There will be no peace among the nations without peace among the religions. There

will be no peace among the religions without dialogue among the religions.’-Dr.

Hans Küng, 31 March 2005, at the opening of an exhibit on the world’s religions

at Santa Clara University. This module will study both the past and present Inter Religious-Inter-Faith Dialogue, relating theory to practice and revealing the complexity and potential of each.

Aim: To enable fellows have a detailed knowledge of at least two major developments, debates in inter-religious inter-faith dialogue.

Objectives: To understand the potential contributions of Inter Religious-Inter faith dialogue to peace building; philosophies/ thinkers in inter-religious interfaith dialogue

To understand factors influencing the theory and practice of Inter Religious-Inter faith dialogue

Scope

The module will cover: the general concept of interreligious and interfaith dialogue and the important role play they in peace building, it will cover the, philosophies/ thinkers, theories and practices of Inter Religious-Inter faith dialogue and it will Finally provide examples/ cases where Inter Religious-Inter faith dialogue practices has been practiced.
