Peace Fellow, Fultang takes Pillars of Positive Peace to Regional Assembly

The Peace Ambassador and Subject Master Specialist, Francis Fultang edified participants among who were. North West Governor. Adolphe Lele Lafrique. the Regional Executive President. Prof. Fru Angwafo III, Members of Parliament. General Managers. Members of the House of Clucfs. Mayors, Regional Councillors on the “Key to transformative positive Peace framework”.

It was all about definitions and content at creates a paradigm shift in the perception of peace. He demonstrated that peace is positive, tangible and an achievable measure ot- human wellbeing and development. In the face of the ongoing security challenges rocking the North West and South West Regions, Fultang told the Regional Assembly members that positive peace captures attitudes. institutions and structures that create and sustain peaceful societies while negative peace is simply the absence of violence or fear of violence.

His presentation featured eight pillars of positive peace which includes; well-functioning governments. sound business environment. equitable distribution of resources, acceptance of the rights of others. free flow of information. high levels of human capital, low levels of corruption.

He stressed that positive peace creates an environment for human potential to flourish
and promoting peace and sustainable development reduces poverty and prevents conflict.
