Summary/About

Awoke Wubie is a passionate humanitarian and development professional with over eight years of experience in child protection, youth leadership, peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and community empowerment across Ethiopia. He is a Fellow of the Rotary Peace Fellowship at Makerere University, an alumnus of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) East Africa Regional Center, and serves as Participant Engagement Chairperson at the Ethiopian Chapter.

Awoke has engaged more than 50,000 community members—including children, youth, and women—through diverse and impactful programs aimed at enhancing leadership, empowerment, and protection. He currently serves as a core trainer and coach on youth leadership at Plan International-Ethiopia (part-time) and contributes to program management at SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia. In addition, he holds several leadership roles in youth initiatives and continues to advance his commitment to community-centered development.
