Gorret Komurembe is a Gender and peacebuilding practitioner with 11 years of experience. Since her university, Gorett has worked with various Civil Society Organizations in collaboration with government ministries, departments and agencies to implement the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. She is also a feminist and women’s rights activist. She is very passionate about transforming the negative social cultural norms, belief and practices that promote unequal power relations in society.
Focus of Social Change Initiative
Gorett implemented a Social Change Initaitive that focused on increasing the meaningful participation of Youth in decision making for positive Peace in Uganda. She aimed at increasing participation of youth in key decision making like politics, understanding the rights of others, and understanding the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on gender participation in peacebuilding.
