Creating Impact though Peace Projects

Joel Oluwatoyin, a Makerere Rotary Peace Fellow, has Founded Oba Women Peace Ambassador (Owpa). She conducted a two-days’ where thirty-two women leaders representing Oba Ile and Oba Oke were trained extensively on mechanism of peacebuilding, under the theme: Women’s Involvement in Peace and Security Process Using Intergenerational Approach. The training introduced the women to the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 (2000) as the international instrument which is on women involvement in peace and security. It highlighted the challenges faced by women and children in time of conflict and how women are the most vulnerable and victim in period of violent conflicts.
